| The Sarah and Richard Farr Scholarship Fund |
|
Background and Purpose: In November 2007, CanTRA recieved a first donation from the John and Sally Horsefall Eaton Foundation in the name of Sarah and Richard Farr, with a second donation to CanTRA in October, 2008. These funds have been given with the request that they be used at the grass roots level to enable children with disabilities to experience riding a horse. We are very pleased to announce that we have received a third donation to continue the Sarah and Richard Farr Scholarship Fund. The available funds have been divided into ‘partial scholarships’ of $200 each, which will be awarded to potential riders with disabilities from across the country who are financially marginalized. Intent: The scholarship fund is to provide the opportunity for children from financially marginalized families to participate in therapeutic riding programs, where the lack of funds on the part of the rider would normally prevent them from doing so. Eligibility: Applicants must meet the following criteria:
If applications in excess of available funds are received, all applications will then be reviewed by a panel of 3-4 people which will include representatives from CanTRA's Honourary Directors as well as Sarah Farr. This panel will determine the distribution of partial scholarships based on application information. Click Here for Scholarship application. Back to Top |
