JoAnn Thompson Franklin, President

JoAnn is founding member of Cavalier Riding Club, a CanTRA member centre serving the greater Moncton area, NB. She currently volunteers her professional skills with the club and served on their board of directors. A life-long horse lover, JoAnn owns several school and retired family horses and ponies. They remain family forever.
Since graduating from Dalhousie University School of Physiotherapy in 1981, JoAnn has built up extensive experience in her chosen profession, accumulating post-graduate training in a wide field of related disciplines. Since 1999, she has continued as a practicing physiotherapist in her own business, Tidewater Physiotherapy Inc, in Lower Coverdale, NB.

Eliane Trempe, Past President/Secretary

Eliane is a CanTRA Coach and director of Les Amis de Joey, a CanTRA-accredited centre founded in 2001 and renamed Centre des Services Centauria (CSC) after merging with a new program in May 2017. CSC operates in three separate location in Québec: Sorel-Tracy, Trois-Rivières, and Chambly. Eliane was a board member and subsequently executive director of La Fédération Québécoise d'Équitation Thérapeutique (FQET), Quebec's provincial therapeutic riding association, with which she has volunteered for close to 15 years..
Eliane has always been very active in many different fields as a businiess owner, event coordinator, and college professor.  Her studies in psychology and currently in equine studies at the University of Guelph, and her passion for horses has driven her to dedicate her professional life to therapeutic riding on a full-time basis for the past six years.
She has spearheaded the creation degree in therapeutic riding launched in 2014 in her hometown college in Sorel-Tracy. This very successful program is one of its kind in Québec.
Eliane has two daughters, and six grandchildren with whom she enjoys spending time as often as her busy schedule allows.

Christine Ross Since 2009, Christine has been head instructor at Creston & District Society for Community Living (CDSCL) in Creston, BC. She qualified as an Equestrian Coach Canada English Instructor of Beginners in 2016 and a CanTRA Coach (the highest instructor qualification) in 2017. Her responsibilites at CDSCL include teaching, mentoring, education, and overseeing the development of the therapeutic riding horses. She also serves in a volunteer capacity as CanTRA's Zone Representative for Zone 1 (BC and Yukon). Christine has been an equestrian for many years, both in England where she started riding at a very young age, and in Canada. She is an architect by profession.

Margaret "Muggs" is co-founder of Rainbow Riders in St. John's, one of the oldest therapeutic riding centres in Canada, and still serves on their board. She recently retired from The Janeway Children's Health and and Rehabilitation Centre where she was a Recreation Specialist/Clinical Leader in the Rehab Division. Rainbow Riders has a very close relationship with the Janeway, with riders coming from all corners of the Province...often tied in with Medical appointments. Margaret has been deeply involved in a number of para-sports, including boccia, para skiing, athletics, wheelchair basketball and swimming. She also served as Manager of the Canadian Para Nordic Ski Team at Paralympic and Para-World games.

Rose Cook, Treasurer

Rose Cook, Treasurer

Although new to CanTRA, Rose has been involved with horses from a very young age. Summer weekends are mainly spent at horse shows, be it cattle penning, barrel racing or show jumping with her daughter Amanda.
Rose has been a dedicated volunteer to many organizations in her local community for the past couple of decades, including the former Greater Moncton Equestrian Club, Riverview Figure Skating Club and T.P. 639 McLaren Air Cadet Squadron. Her favourite quote is "You have two hands, one for helping yourself and one for helping others".
In past and current jobs Rose has worked as an Office manager/Accountant and always enjoys a new challenge. She is happily married and enjoys spending time with her 2 children, 4 horses and 2 dogs.
